It is undisputed that being a parent is often difficult and sometimes challenging especially when one is faced with unusual circumstances. At Sanctuary Family Centre we believe that every parent has a different style of parenting and there is no one style fits all approach, but the varying parental skills sets are all reviewed and assessed. If social services have child protection concerns about your children, you may be asked to have a PAMS assessment.

As we conduct PAMS Assessment, we consciously employ the assessment tool which was designed by Dr Sue McGaw through which we look more intuitively at what calls for ‘good enough parenting’.
Sanctuary family Centre profoundly believes that parents with Learning difficulties can often be ‘good enough’ parents when provided with the ongoing emotional and practical support they need.
The PAMS assessment covers childcare and development, behaviour management, independent living skills, safety and hygiene, parent’s health, relationships and support, and impact of the environment and the community on parenting.
Our dedicated staff members have been trained to undertake detailed parenting assessments using the PAMS assessment software.
